There are some very specific memories of Grandpa that stick out in my mind. One is how much he liked to watch Star Trek. I also have vivd memories of him cleaning the pool so we could go swimming. I think I remember the most his fondness of mind teaser games. I liked to watch him play, or try to help him figure them out. He was so quiet mostly, but sometimes watching him with those games, I wondered if he was a genius.
A dear friend sent a card with this verse:
"When a father leaves
so many happy yesterdays,
his love will last
through all of your tomorrows."
So very true! I am grateful for many many years of very happy memories!
When I called Fred to ask for permission to marry Robin, I didn't know their phone number but I was able to narrow it down to 3 possibilities. I called and Fred answered the phone, but since it didn't sound like him I hung up without saying anything. I then realized I had called the correct number, so I called back and had to apologize for hanging up on him a few minutes earlier.

Who can forget the white sequence dinner jacket!!
