I will surely miss seeing and talking to Fred at the coffee machine in the morning. I always enjoyed hearing about his last cruise, his next planned one, and how much he enjoyed his family. You could not find a prouder husband, father or grandfather. We will miss having Fred around with his wisdom and life experience.
Peggy and family, we are so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers. May God give you strength to get through this difficult time of loss.

Our love and prayers go out to you during this most distressing time. Although we didn't know Mr. Obst well, the kind of person he was is surely seen through his wonderful family that we have come to love very much. May Jehovah, "the God of all comfort" (2 Cor. 1:3,4) give you peace and strength to cope with this great change in your lives. What a blessing it is to have such a close-knit family to provide support for each other.

I got to know Fred by working with him almost weekly on EDI problems for Flowers Foods Specialty Group located in Tucker, GA. He was always very helpful, followed up with the problem you had given him, explained why and how we needed to solve the problem a certain way and always called back- never e-mailed which doesn't happen much in today's business world. I remember the first time I met Fred, 2 years ago on a business trip to Thomasville, the IT department was celebrating his 70th birthday. Since I had never met Fred only talked to him on the phone, I could not believe he was 70 and still working but more importantly I could not believe how sharp he was in his work. Our team at Flowers Specialty will certainly miss working with Fred. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Time will replace the loss with the wonderful memories of a great person.

I worked with Fred some years ago.
Fred and I would email each other when there was a fresh pot brewing in the breakroom. We shared 'pet' stories and I loved hearing about his latest cruise trip, whether it was with Peggy or the whole family! and Christmas! I loved to hear his christmas stories! he had one or two with all those grandchildren! loved them all!
He was so funny, kind and wouldn't take no bull!
Peggy and family, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that the wonderful memories that you shared with Fred will help get you through this time.

I had the pleasure of being one of the managers at Flowers who hired Fred many years ago. Something I never regretted. Even less when Peggy joined us as well to convert documentation and shared an office with Fred. How wonderful and rare to have such a sweet couple working with us!
I always called him Fred-O. I'm not even sure how that came about, but that's what friends do. He was such a great addition to the team, a hard worker, always here, happy, willing, able and ready. He was probably the only one who could consume more coffee than me at the time.
He will be sorely missed. I will especially miss that twinkle in his eye when he was joking and his sense of humor.
Fred-O is leaving us with a lot of great memories. Thank you.
To Peggy and family, all our thoughts and prayers are with you while you are going through this difficult time.
Ginette.

I started at Flowers corp office about 10 years ago, I was in a 4 cube setting with Fred at that time for about 4 months. I always enjoyed listing to his storys, and his life experiences, and boy he had some. You could tell he loved his Family, and really enjoyed the Cruises that you went on.
I rode down the elevator with him just about a month ago here at the office,We were on seperate floors so we didn't see each other to often, but Fred talked about the next Criuse, and at that time I could not tell anything was wrong. He will be missed by all of us here. My prayer for you will be that God will give You and Your Family the comfort and strength you will need to go through this week and beyond.
